The main types of PE film (polyethylene film) can be divided into the following categories based on their density, function, specific application, and manufacturing process:

I. Classification by Density

Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Film

Characteristics: Soft, highly transparent, with good water resistance, moisture resistance, drought resistance, and chemical stability.

Applications: Commonly used in food storage bags, pharmaceutical packaging bags, and fruit and vegetable fresh-keeping packaging.

Manufacturing Process: Mainly produced using extrusion blow molding and T-die methods.

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Film

Characteristics: Tough, translucent film with superior tensile strength, moisture resistance, heat resistance, oil resistance, and chemical stability compared to LDPE film.

Applications: Suitable for making garbage bags, shopping bags, fruit packaging bags, and food packaging bags.

Manufacturing Process: Can be heat-sealed, but not as transparent as LDPE.

Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) Film

Characteristics: Combines the strength and durability of HDPE film with the softness and transparency of LDPE film.

Uses: Widely used in packaging bags, agricultural films, and more.

Medium-Density Polyethylene (MDPE) Film

Features: Soft and highly transparent.

Applications: Commonly used in garment and shoe bags.

II. Classification by Function

Anti-static Polyethylene Film

Features: Highly effective in protecting against static electricity.

Applications: Widely used in the semiconductor and electronic component industries.

Optical Polyethylene Film

Features: Excellent optical clarity, flatness, abrasion resistance, and scratch resistance.

Applications: Used in various optical devices, such as protective films, optical filters, and brightening films.

III. Classification by Specific Application

PE Skin Packaging Film

Features: Primarily used for skin-tight blister packaging, with excellent thermal adhesion and low-temperature heat sealing properties.

Applications: Used for packaging hardware, tool hardware, furniture hardware, automotive parts, and lighting fixtures.

Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) Film

Characteristics: Excellent abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and low friction coefficient.

Applications: Suitable for the production of high-end protective materials, sliding materials, and more.

IV. Classification by Manufacturing Process

Blown Film Process

Applications: Primarily used for the production of LDPE and LLDPE films.

Calendering Process

Applications: Suitable for the production of various polyethylene films, particularly those requiring wider widths.
